The nonprofit Hand Surgery Resource was started in 2016. Hand Surgery Resource which is now part of the International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand (IFSSH) continues to provide FREE hand surgery educational materials worldwide. Hand Surgery Resource provides HAND SURGERY SOURCE VERSION 8.0, a free educational website, and HAND SURGERY SOURCE APP 8.0, a free educational APP.

Hand Surgery Source presents the fundamental principles of injuries of the hand and upper extremity, diseases of the hand, and a hand therapy library. Our free APP provides high-quality educational material worldwide for anyone with an internet connection or a mobile phone.  The Hand Surgery Resource website and APP is now open to the public.  We hope you will still give us your email address so you can receive our monthly newsletter.  The sign up is available in the Newsletter Section.  Currently Hand Surgery Resource website has 4704 registered users in over 100 countries. The Hand Surgery Source APP had 34,844 installs as of February 2024.  There are 20,000 individuals who receive the Hand Surgery Resource newsletter worldwide. The newsletter is also posted on LinkedIn for 21,862 followers.  Our YouTube channel with 30 videos has had over 152,587 views and has 2.28K subscribers.

Last year the Hand Surgery Resources site had over 315,863 views with 163,051 new users and the Hand Surgery Source APP had 238,063 views as of February 2024.  The Hand Surgery Source APP also can provide QR Codes with deep links and has an audio function so users can listen to or read the content by using the Read to Me function.

Contains over a million and a half words of text with:

• 303 diagnostic guides sections including ICD 10 & CPT codes

• 161 exams, tests, and signs sections

• 26 diagnostic studies sections

• The site has several search options, including searching for and by congenital disorders, tumors, anatomy area, anatomic systems, and general keyword search

• 2,500 photos and drawings make visualizing the teaching points easy

• 185 videos also support the text

• Hand Surgery Source content is supported by over 4,450 references which includes 3,457 direct links to PubMed.

Hand Surgery Resource also has a new educational resource: the Hand Surgery Resource Podcasts which are available at Apple, Google, and Spotify. The 11 podcasts have had 3,388 listeners.

Individuals can easily sign in and enjoy using this free hand surgery educational site or the APP.  As you can see from our new home page, Hand Surgery Resource has collaborations with the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, The International Federation of Societies for Hand Therapy, and is now part of the International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand (IFSSH).
